A recent survey of U.S. retailers found that nearly 80% of all bulk and packaged produce sold to consumers contains some kind of label. The research also found that two-thirds of the produce marketed in the stores (by both volume and dollars) is merchandised in bulk, while the remaining one-third is packaged. All of which have labels, reported Supermarket News.

Seventy-one percent of bulk produce sold carries a Price Look Up sticker or other label on the product itself, while 29% does not. The survey of 64 supermarket operators representing 17,000 stores was conducted by Opinion Dynamics Corp., and funded by the Produce Marketing Association.
