At Analytica 2004 in May, included among the products rolled out by German company Analytik Jena, was the SpeedCycler thermal cycler, the company's first foray into the well-defined but fast-growing PCR business. Although this might be news enough for a company that tallied 27.3 million [euro] ($29.3 million = 0.93 [euro] = $1) in instrument sales in 2003, Analytik Jena also introduced a new family of total organic carbon (TOC) analyzers as well as the contrAA atomic absorption spectrometer at the exhibition.
