Aug. 4--A contract between a Waccamaw Neck developer and Lowe's could be signed this week, allowing the big-box retailer to possibly apply for permission from the county to build on U.S. 17 South by next month.
Developer Charles McGill said the contract to sell about 17 acres of property to Lowe's could be signed by Friday.
The county has sought to limit the number of large retail operations on the Waccamaw Neck by passing a 45,000-square-foot size restriction on the U.S. 17 corridor. County law does allow big-box businesses to be built as part of ...
