Sep. 10--The printing industry is in one of the worst sales slumps in decades, according to figures released Monday by a national trade association.
"It's all part of a frustratingly slow recovery from an exceptionally deep, broad recession," said Andrew Paparozzi, chief economist for the National Association for Printing Leadership in Paramus, N.J.
Printing is a $6.7 billion industry in Wisconsin that employs more than 47,000 workers. Wisconsin ranks eighth in the nation in printing volume, and Milwaukee and Waukesha counties together rank 11th in the nation among regions with the most people employed in printing.
