Aug. 29--The printing industry is suffering its worst recession since the 1970s, says the economist for the National Association for Printing Leadership.
"This is not just another recession," said Andrew Paparozzi vice president and chief economist for the association, which represents the commercial printing industry. The industry's downturn preceded the general economy and has been deeper than other economic sectors, he said.
The recession underscores what the association has been telling its members, about 2,000 of the more than 40,000 U.S. companies traditionally called printers. "Printers have had to ...
