Aug. 31--ALAMOGORDO, N.M.--Five former Las Cruces School Board members were found guilty Thursday of violating the state Open Meetings Act.
Former school board members Jeanette Dickerson, Mary Tucker, Clarence Fielder, Ruben Alvarado and William Soules each were charged with two counts of violating the Open Meetings Act in approving incentive payments for former Superintendent Jesse Gonzales.
A district court jury in Alamogordo found Soules innocent on the first count, but guilty on the second. The other four former board members were found guilty on both counts. Soules was not present for one of the two closed ...
