Sep. 6--BOCA RATON, Fla.--Days away from Florida's primary election, Bill McBride has narrowly overtaken Janet Reno in the year-long campaign for the Democratic Party nomination for governor.
Their contest remains a dead heat, according to a one-night survey conducted Wednesday for the Orlando Sentinel and WESH/NewsChannel 2. But for the first time in this race, Tampa-area lawyer McBride has turned the statistical tables against Reno, the former U.S. attorney general.
McBride leads Reno, 44 percent to 42 percent.
