BOURBONNAIS, Ill. _ They can't talk much these days, but Chris Chandler still hears John Brodie's voice in his head. He usually can guess what his father-in-law would say, which comes in handy when the politics and pettiness of pro football rear up and bite him once again.
"Brodie always told me, `Just play. Don't worry about anything else,'" Chandler said. "He was one of those guys with 17 years in one place. That was a different time, of course, but he always said, `Just keep playing,' and that's all I've tried to do."
