The collapse of the technology sector may be old news, but it continues to generate fresh casualties.
Within days, Ziff Davis Media Inc., a debt-laden publisher of technology and electronic gaming magazines with strong ties to Chicago, is expected to financially restructure, possibly with a prepackaged Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing.
"It's another hangover from the Internet environment," said Mark Edmiston, managing director of AdMedia Partners, a New York investment banking boutique. "They bet the market would grow, and it shrank dramatically _ it became untenable and they need to restructure their debt."
