HACKENSACK, N.J. _ Princeton University's No. 2 admissions officer has been suspended after acknowledging he penetrated a secure Web site Yale University had set up to notify applicants if they had been accepted at the Ivy League school.
The FBI at the same time is investigating to determine if there has been any violation of federal law, said Lisa Bull, spokeswoman for the agency's New Haven, Conn., office.
A legal scholar said the computer trespassing could violate federal laws protecting student privacy and prohibiting unauthorized access to computerized information.
