APPLE CONCENTRATE--The 2004 North American apple crop is expected to total 19.9 million bushels, a decrease of 10% from the 22.2 million bushel estimate of 2003, according to the annual Guesstimate meeting of the Michigan Frozen Food Packers Association.

In Washington, movement of juice apples to local processing plants continues to decline seasonally as some are running soft fruit.

As of June 23, the prices for all juice apple varieties was $60.00-$80.00 per ton, mostly $60.00, but some higher per ton. As of June 23, Washington processed 214,555 tons of juice apples, the equivalent of 6.7 million gallons of concentrate, 14% less than last year.
