2004 AUG 9 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- Increased use of amphetamines among general U.S. workforce employees was linked to rising workplace drug use during 2003, according to the semi-annual Drug Testing Index, released by Quest Diagnostics Incorporated (DGX).
Overall, the drug positivity rate increased to 4.5% in 2003 from 4.4% a year earlier for the combined U.S. workforce.
The positivity rate is the number of positive test results compared to the total number of drug tests performed by Quest Diagnostics. Quest Diagnostics performed more than 7.1 million drug tests from January to December 2003.
