2004 AUG 14 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- DermTech International announced positive results of research using the company's proprietary skin sampling technology, Epidermal Genetic Information Retrieval (EGIR), in defining the molecular nature of irritant reactions on the surface of the skin.
EGIR uses a proprietary adhesive film to harvest surface skin cells from which genetic material can be extracted and analyzed. The data presented in the paper demonstrate several key elements about the technology.
The work appears in the July 2004 issue of the Journal of Investigative Dermatology and is entitled, "Use of RT-PCR and DNA Microarrays to Characterize ...
