CHICAGO _ The St. Louis Cardinals wore the previous week's sad turn of events on their sleeves Sunday night at Wrigley Field.
On their right sleeves were the initials of Jack Buck, the team's Hall of Fame broadcaster who died at 77 last Tuesday after a long battle with Parkinson's disease and other ailments.
On their left sleeves they wore Darryl Kile's No. 57. The 33-year-old pitcher died in his sleep Saturday at the Cardinals' downtown hotel, apparently of cardiac disease.
Kile was scheduled to start Sunday's game with the Cubs, and his presence hung over the steamy ballpark like a shroud. He prided himself on ...
