DETROIT_When he one-timed a perfect pass from Boyd Devereaux past Carolina Hurricanes goalie Arturs Irbe on Monday night in Game 4 of the Stanley Cup finals, Detroit sniper Brett Hull joined an exclusive club.
The goal was the game-winner for the Red Wings and put Detroit in position to win the Stanley Cup on Thursday night. And it was the 100th of Hull's playoff career.
Only three other players in NHL history have scored 100 playoff goals: Wayne Gretzky, Mark Messier and Jari Kurri.
Maurice "Rocket" Richard didn't, nor did Mike Bossy. Mario Lemieux is 24 goals away. Gordie Howe finished with 68.
