Aug. 5--When Jean Meyer-Fero writes a check to Albertsons, she always records it in her check register as "Al's."

Takes less time, you know. But why not write "Als?" After all, the big sign with the royal-blue letters on the Coburg Road store says "Albertsons," not "Albertson's."

"I always use correct grammar," joked Meyer-Fero, as she loaded groceries into her car Friday afternoon with the help of a bagger.

For more than two years now, the Boise-based supermarket chain has been under siege for not being grammatically correct.
