Aug. 7--BARSTOW, Calif.--Business and law enforcement leaders have come out against a Caltrans proposal to close one lane of Interstate 15 for up to one year as part of a major road project east of Barstow.
The Caltrans proposal is to close one lane of Interstate 15 in each direction spanning from East Main Street to Rasor Road. The closure would be a round-the-clock and would affect a 54-mile stretch of freeway, Caltrans Construction Liaison Dennis Green announced Tuesday during a meeting of the Barstow Area Chamber of Commerce's I-15 Construction Public Advisory Committee.
