Jul. 31--WASHINGTON--Two executives who were Merrill Lynch & Co. directors in Dallas and Houston refused to testify Tuesday before Congress because of a federal investigation into the investment banker's dealings with Enron Corp.
Notice of the Justice Department's probe prompted the two men, Robert Furst and Schuyler Tilney, to invoke their right against self-incrimination. They had cooperated with congressional investigators earlier this month.
Mr. Furst was managing director of Merrill Lynch's Dallas office until December when he took early retirement, and Mr. Tilney was managing director in Houston until Friday when ...
