Article: Huntington Beach, Calif., Again Mulls Ban of Aerial Ads.

Jul. 31--Huntington Beach City officials, inspired by a federal court ruling upholding a Honolulu law that restricts aerial advertising, are considering -- again -- banning airplanes that tow banners.

If the city adopts such an ordinance, it could clear the way for other coastal cities to adopt similar bans -- or pit Huntington Beach against the Federal Aviation Administration and open the city up to lawsuits brought by businesses and nonprofit groups that use the sky banners to promote everything from pizza to abortion viewpoints.
