Aug. 2--WASHINGTON-President Vicente Fox is summoning hundreds of leading Mexican-Americans to Mexico City on Tuesday to unveil a new agency to represent the interests of Mexican immigrants in the United States, according to officials familiar with the initiative.
The agency would replace the presidential Office for Mexicans Abroad, which was set up to represent the interests of Mexican immigrants in the United States. It opened with fanfare shortly after Mr. Fox was elected two years ago.
