Aug. 3--VIRGINIA BEACH, Va.--Chrissy Fitzgerald and Sherry Blackwell carried overflowing bags from Oceanfront stores as they strolled Atlantic Avenue with their daughters.
Among the key chains and beach towels stuffed in the bags were the quintessential, gotta-have-it tourist items: the souvenir T-shirts.
"Anybody can use T-shirts," said Fitzgerald, of Waynesboro, Va. "We buy them for the kids and the guys back home."
T-shirts are top sellers along Atlantic Avenue, from novelty designs to family-friendly gear emblazoned with proof that people vacationed in "Virginia Beach."
