Jul. 24--Hewlett-Packard Co. went on the offensive against Dell Computer Corp. Tuesday, saying it would no longer allow Dell to sell H-P printers, scanners and digital cameras.
The decision is likely to put a small dent in both companies' sales, analysts said. And it raises the stakes for Round Rock-based Dell, which has been considering launching its own line of printers.
H-P said it made the decision because of Dell's potential move into the printer business. H-P will also pull its Jornada handheld computers from Dell's offerings.
