Jul. 8--Tea tree oil has become one of the most popular products used in making beauty and health-care products, including those entering the Thai market, joining old stalwarts jojoba, evening primrose and vitamin E. The oil, derived from steam distillation of the leaves of the melaleuca tree, an Australian native, is used in making hair-care and sun-screen products, antiseptics, air-fresheners, fabric-care products, dishwashing liquids and insect repellent.
