Jun. 23--ANAHEIM, Calif. -- Bob Miller was so mad at eBay last year that, in protest, he put up for auction the very jacket the company had given him as a reward.
In describing the jacket, he included some choice words about eBay chief executive Meg Whitman -- and eBay promptly yanked the auction.
This weekend, Whitman greeted Miller, a stamp trader from Roy, Utah, with a big hug. In its biggest-ever outreach to small- and medium-sized users, eBay is throwing a three-day party, dubbed eBay Live, at the Anaheim Convention Center. The event, which ends today, has drawn some 4,000 people from 48 states and eight countries.
