BLAINE, Minn. _ Two guys with a painful recent history of last-minute meltdowns will go head to head today in the final round of the 3M Championship.
And they know they can't get caught up in what was, or they are likely to get lapped by some pretty good players nipping at their heels.
Tom Purtzer takes a two-shot lead over Tom Kite into the final 18 holes of the 12th annual Champions Tour event at the TPC of the Twin Cities. Purtzer is at 12-under-par 132 after a 68, tied for the low round of the day, on a chilly, breezy afternoon in Blaine. Kite is at 134 after a 69.
