Aug. 9--GRAND PLAN FOR ICE RINK MELTS DOWN: Jim Kolar never scrimped on the details.
The Tequesta resident bought the former Vista Bowling Center near West Palm Beach three years ago and proudly planned to turn it into twin ice-skating rinks.
Kolar said he was a friend of National Hockey League star Brett Hull and expected him to attend the grand opening. He envisioned youth hockey leagues, a fitness center, a restaurant and party rooms. He was taking bids on naming rights and hired developer Dan Catalfumo to make it all happen.
