Connecticut hospitals are facing a health crisis that neither surgery nor wonder drugs can cure: A serious shortage of qualified nurses.
There are simply more nurses retiring from the profession, or leaving it for other careers, than nursing graduates to take their places. The need for nurses has been so pressing that hospitals have had to recruit nurses in other countries.
Norwalk Community College (NCC) has found a solution that's good medicine.
NCC recently entered into a landmark partnership with Greenwich, Norwalk and Stamford hospitals to expand its nursing program.
