WELLESLEY, Mass., Aug. 9 (AScribe Newswire) -- A weak economy did not deter Babson's first-year students from earning big profits from their fledgling businesses. Some 400 freshmen running 14 campus ventures raised $45,283.33 in profits this year for donation to community service.
The students businesses are part of Babson's Foundation Management Experience (FME), a two-semester required course for all entering freshmen. Teams of students began working together in September to develop business plans and present before a "faculty" venture group. Fourteen ventures were launched in January and year-end reports delivered in April.
