A mother of two will have the chance to shine on July 4 after she beat out more than 700 other singers competing to perform with the Boston Pops.
Tracy Silva, 36, of Taunton, Mass., became the first contestant to win the Pops' first talent competition. She earned the right to take to the stage with conductor Keith Lockhart for the Pops' annual Fourth of July concert on the Esplanade.
Silva drives a van for special needs children and is active in community theater. She sings with the Brockton Assembly of God Church on Sundays and performs with the gospel group she founded with friends and family.
She won the competition with the song "Fools Fall ...
