FIVE British divers were lost for 12 hours in the shark-infested waters of the Red Sea yesterday.
They had gone on a 45-minute scuba dive to explore the coral reefs off the Egyptian coast - but there was panic when they had failed to return several hours later.
A huge rescue effort involving helicopters and navy ships swung into action to find the group of 12, which also included five Portuguese and two Belgians.
Last night they were all found alive - an astonishing 45 miles from where they had dived.
