Jul. 16--The adage "necessity is the mother of invention" is apt for Limo-Tec, a stretch limousine repair and maintenance shop that has opened in Willowick.
Managing partner Mike Urda, who ran Sound Machine Limousine service based in Highland Heights for five years, had difficulty finding service garages for his two limos.
"No one in the area has long lifts that can hold stretch limos," said Urda, who often took his vehicles to truck repairing shops. Even there, the lifts were not long enough to hold 20-foot-long limos. And the mechanics are not trained to repair the expensive custom-made vehicles.
