Jun. 5--LOS ANGELES--The closest Patti Aden will get to watching her beloved Lakers compete for a third consecutive NBA championship will be on her Huntington Beach living-room television screen.
Aden, 49, is like many hard- core Lakers fans, forced to root for skywalking Kobe Bryant and slam-dunking Shaquille O'Neal from afar because playoff tickets at Staples Center are both hard to obtain and to afford.
The Lakers begin play in the NBA Finals at 6 tonight at home against the New Jersey Nets.
Aden won't be there.
