Jun. 12--In the classic childhood story, it's the little engine that could -- not the one owned by a multinational corporation or Fortune 500 firm.
During its 17th annual Small Business Awards ceremony today, the Fox Cities Chamber of Commerce and Industry recognized a trio of local employers who prove -- despite a slowing economy -- that bigger isn't always better.
"Small business in this country makes up the vast majority of businesses," said Jim Schlies, the chamber's vice president of economic development.
