BAGRAM, Afghanistan _ Most everyone in the village of Bagram, Afghanistan, knows where the clandestine weapons are sold.
The market is behind a tea shop _ between a bicycle repair yard and a fruit stand _ where an assortment of arms is bartered. They are hidden from public display. But the man in charge offers visitors an oral list of available grenades, rocket launchers and arms.
But ask to see them and the man rubs his beard and smiles. The weapons, he says, may not exist.
"But you just said they are for sale," he is told. "What is the truth?"
