ORLANDO, Fla. _ You've probably seen the television ads: Allergy sufferers mill aimlessly about in a sunny field. High above, a giant Clarinex pill streaks toward earth to their rescue. A soothing voice urges viewers to ask their doctors about the drug.
If the name Clarinex sounds familiar, it's because the drug's manufacturer planned it that way. Clarinex is a new form of Claritin, Schering-Plough Corp.'s mega-popular antihistamine drug, which for many consumers is synonymous with allergy relief.
