CHICAGO _ Five seasons ago, some skeptics wondered if Peter Nowak came to the Fire looking for a paid vacation in the United States, if he was another European player on the down side of his career.

Turns out Nowak was just beginning some of his most productive years.

"He seems to get better with age," Fire midfielder Jesse Marsch says.
