PHILADELPHIA _ On April 17, 1976, Lee Elia was managing the Phillies' single-A South Atlantic League team in Spartanburg, S.C., when the report from the big team came in.
Flash: Mike Schmidt hit four home runs in one game.
"Wow," Elia said to himself that day. "That must have been something to see."
All these years later, Elia was there, sitting in the dugout with the rest of the Seattle Mariners coaching staff, watching with his own eyes as Mike Cameron electrified the baseball world with four home runs against the Chicago White Sox on Thursday night.
