GETTING THERE: American and Continental airlines fly daily into Belize City.
TRANSPORTATION: You do not need to rent a car in Belize. Most resorts will make arrangements for you to get to them from Belize City by boat, airplane or van.
If you decide to rent a car, prices start at about $90 a day. You need a U.S. driver's license and a credit card.
LANGUAGE: Belize's official language is English. About 70 percent of the people speak it along with Spanish, Creole, Mayan and Garifuna.
FOOD: You can eat well in Belize. The national dish is beans and rice. But do not miss the seafood.
