Jun. 4--Regeneron Pharmaceuticals Inc. said on Monday that it will spend at least $25 million to expand its operation at the University at Albany's East Campus.
And if the company's drugs continue to show progress, it will expand here again in 2003, ultimately creating 225 new jobs as part of a five-year program.
The investment, which could total $100 million, is essentially a bet that some of the drugs in Regeneron's portfolio -- targeting obesity, rheumatoid arthritis, cancer and asthma -- will bear commercial fruit.
