Jun. 4--MEADVILLE, Pa.--John Walters has been waiting for the $926,000 federal training grant that U.S. Rep. Phil English announced Monday at the Precision Manufacturing Institute.
For Walters and anywhere from 200 to 400 other workers, the grant might be the ticket to a brighter future in the tool-and-die industry.
PMI is the chief training center for Crawford County's tool-and-die companies, and the place where Walters hopes to find a fresh start after 18 months of unemployment.
