May 28--ALTADENA, Calif.--A high-tech firm is raising funds to develop something it hopes will greatly reduce the cost of broadband and telecommunications applications: a tunable laser.
Altadena-based Tunable Photonics Corp. said it plans to raise $10 million in Series B funding, which a company spokesman said would be used to take one of its first products into full production and for research and development the tunable laser.
One of the company's products is TrueLock, a wavelength locker, designed to make lasers more accurate. The company has sold prototypes of the product, and expects to have a production-level item out ...
