Jun. 1--A year ago, Michael Blaylock stood before a crowd of roaring supporters at a rally in Bethel Baptist Institutional Church and said he had no idea what he would do next in his career.
He had just barely lost his bid to become executive director of the Jacksonville Transportation Authority. He said he didn't know if he would stay or go.
On Thursday, that period of turmoil and uncertainty was far in the past. Blaylock settled into the executive director's chair in the JTA boardroom for the first time, filling the seat vacated by Derek Morse's surprise resignation after just a year in the job.
