Proposals questioned in business community
The Jackson Redevelopment Authority (JRA) is considering two vastly different proposals for the King Edward Hotel. However, there are reservations in the business community about the viability of either.
"Adding a new (office) building in downtown Jackson today just wouldn't be prudent," said Steve Rogers, president of Eastover Realty Company of the proposal to invest $21 million to turn the King Edward Hotel into 205,000 square feet of premium office space. "It would upset a reasonably good market and I don't think it would make a lot of money."
