PITTSBURGH, Aug. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- The gardens at the portals to the Squirrel Hill Tunnel have a green future as a result of Duquesne Light Company's dedication to community conservation. Partnering with the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy, the electric utility has signed a long-term agreement for the planting and care of the gardens at this eastern gateway to Pittsburgh.
The Squirrel Hill Tunnel is the second most traveled entrance to Pittsburgh. PennDOT statistics report that nearly 500,000 vehicles travel this busy section of the Parkway East every week.
