PHILADELPHIA _ When Dawn Staley became the Temple women's basketball coach two seasons ago, she faced a three-part challenge in turning the Owls into a contender for the NCAA tournament.
The former Dobbins Tech and University of Virginia star needed to build a coaching staff _ one that could handle the program when Staley was playing in the WNBA during the summer.
She needed to study the team's personnel to find a strategic style that could harness their abilities.
