Apr. 19--Representatives of satellite television services Hughes Network Systems and EchoStar Communications Corp. came to Harrisburg Thursday to talk about the benefits they say consumers would receive from a merger of the two companies.
The merger, proposed last year and before the Federal Communications Commission and the U.S. Justice Department for approval, would mean one company would control retail satellite TV service in the United States. Rural interests, in particular, have voiced concerns.
