Article: New directions for women's health research. (includes related article)

Now that politicians and scientists are paying attention to the chronic inequity in women's health research, women must take the lead in designing tactics to make the changes. In an exciting step in this direction, I represented the Network at a meeting titled "Women's Health Research: Opportunities and Strategies for Change" in Chicago, Dec. 9-10, 1991. The meeting, co-sponsored by The Society for the Advancement of Women's Health Research and The Center for Research on Women and Gender at the University of Illinois, hosted forty participants from consumer health groups, academic health research, and professional groups.
