Aug. 9--George Fennell bought several acres of land next to the Centre Pointe project in North Charleston in the 1990s. He's been waiting patiently ever since for the day when the long-delayed retail development would spring to life.
That time is now at hand.
"We weren't worried," said Fennell, founder and president of Charleston-based Fennell Holdings Inc., a holding company that invests in real estate and other commercial ventures. "We knew it was going to come sooner or later. It's a good piece of property out there. ... It really is the center point of the region."
