Apr. 15--John J. Rigas always was a puzzle.

Talking to the diminutive, soft-voiced man, it's easy to forget that he's the multimillionaire owner of a National Hockey League team.

He radiates the small-town values of his home in Coudersport, Pa., but he also heads a $3 billion cable television company -- which he built with aggressive borrowing.

Now there's another contradiction.

His company, which is too upright to carry adult channels, is being accused of duping stockholders with Enron-style accounting tricks.
