Apr. 16--Here's a pop quiz for shoppers, the kind who fancy themselves fashion-savvy, chic consumers, but who also like the occasional bargain:
In one store hangs a trendy, top-of-the-line leather jacket that you really like. Price tag: $800. In another store, 10 minutes away, you find a similar item, only a little older and less stylish. Price: $299.
What do you do?
Many of the upscale retailers coming to town this fall, when the Mall at Millenia opens and Florida Mall completes its expansion, are betting affluent locals and tourists will choose fashion over price.
